Citizen's Fire Academy Now Accepting Applications

Sign up to become a part of the Genoa Township Citizens Fire Academy. The Academy runs once a week for 2 hours for a 12 week period from March – June of each year.

Learn and take part in multiple exciting fire department disciplines. This is a participative academy for adults of all ages and physical capabilities. Participants will learn to pull hoses, crawl in smoke (theatre), mitigate a Haz Mat incident, learn CPR, drive a fire truck, and more.

There is no charge for this course.

The purpose of the Citizens Fire Academy is to inform and educate, through practical participation when possible, the responsibilities and operations of the Fire Department. Citizens will discover how the Fire Department prepares for and responds to emergencies as well as learn how to survive in emergencies. It is not intended to make citizens into firefighters. It will be fun and educational.

Questions can be directed to Fire Marshal, Craig Skeel.
