Boards, Committees & Commissions

Genoa Township has active boards, commissions, and committees providing regular citizen input into policy and decision-making.  Appointees are a vital link between the Board of Trustees and the Township’s residents. A few of the boards, commissions, and committees have statutory powers, while others serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees. All members are appointed by the Board of Trustees based on qualifications and willingness to serve the community and local government on a voluntary basis.

Any person who serves on any Township board, commission, or committee of the Township, established or created by the Township, Township Code, or the general laws of the State of Ohio, must be a resident of the Township for a minimum of six consecutive months, a registered elector, and may not hold any Genoa Township public office.  Please note that the Board of Trustees will only appoint an individual to serve on one committee at a time.  Furthermore, multiple members of the same household are not permitted to serve on the same committee.  Members of the same household may however serve on separate committees.
