Vendor Permit

Genoa Township requires all vendors to register at the Police Station 48 hours prior to operating within the Township. Each individual who will be going door-to-door must be registered, as opposed to one permit per company (maximum 12 per company). Applicants are not denied for prior offenses. 

Vendors include those who sell goods, or services door-to-door. Nonprofit groups such as the Girl Scouts or school groups are not considered Vendors.  

Registered vendors are permitted to operate between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. No solicitations are to be made on Sundays, holidays or at homes with "No Solicitation" signs posted. The registration period is valid for 90 days. 

Residents are encouraged to call non-emergency police dispatch (740-833-2800) regarding vendors operating without a permit or otherwise violating Township policies. Vendors who violate any of the terms, conditions, or requirements may be prosecuted under Section 505.99 of Ohio Revised Code.
