Genoa Township Police are proud to provide a variety of programs and safety initiatives to maintain its high level of service to residents. Services are designed to enhance safety by preventing crimes from occurring as well as to respond to threats to the community. Other programs have been established with the intention to foster positive relationships between police and residents, in the spirit of "Community Policing".
Community Oriented Policing is a philosophy that promotes organizational strategies that address the causes of crime, reducing fear and social disorder through problem-solving tactics and police-community partnerships. Genoa Township Police Department is committed to this model of policing. This commitment is demonstrated by the vacation home check program, consistent patrol of neighborhoods, and being proactive in crime prevention. Officers are eager to help problem-solve with residents when concerns are identified by the community.
