Each fall be sure to visit “Trick-or-Treat Village” for little beggars.  The event featuring games, prizes, free raffles for Township children, refreshments, balloon art, a haunted house, a hay maze is scheduled for Saturday, October 29th from  12 noon – 3:00 p.m.

The event is  held at the Fire Station and the adjacent maintenance facility located at 7049 Big Walnut Road.

The Police Department typically hosts informational booths, refreshments, and hot dogs fresh off the grill. And, the Department’s K-9 Rocky, and his handler, Officer Berner greet visitors.

October is Fire Prevention Month, and the Fire Department welcomes children to enjoy a touch-a-truck experience as well as operate a real fire hose.  The firefighters will also host a haunted house which is a highlight of the event. In addition to snacks and giveaways, one lucky child will go home with tickets to Rock'n'Jump compliments of Genoa Township Professional Firefighters Local 4307 if they complete a Fire Escape Plan and submit it in the designated box at the event. A winner will be drawn at random from all completed entries. Complete the entry worksheet  or use a separate paper to create your fire escape plan map that shows your home, all doors and windows, two exit routes for each room as well as a designated meeting place. Don't forget to include your name, phone number, and email address in case your entry is drawn as the winner!

Volunteers are needed to help with crafts, games, and food distribution. Contact Linda Greco to sign-up to help.

Please note that neighborhood door-to-door Trick-or-Treating is a separate activity held annually on Halloween Night in Genoa Township. Learn more about Trick-or-Treat
