Text to 9-1-1 service is available in Delaware County.  This is especially useful for people who are hearing or speech impaired and, of course, if someone finds themselves in an emergency situation that requires maintaining silence. The dispatcher will be able to respond and continue communicating with the sender via text. 

The 9-1-1 Center still prefers everyone to call if possible, but texting is an important option available to anyone in need. 

Delaware County provides dispatching for Genoa Township Police and Fire Departments.
