Three elected Trustees, serving four-year staggered terms, govern Genoa Township. Trustees are responsible for the overall administration of Township services and for decisions regarding the growth and welfare of the Township. The addition of Genoa Township's full-time Police and Fire Departments is just a small example of the governing decisions made by the Board of Trustees.

The Fiscal Officer takes minutes of all regular Trustees' meeting, handles all of the Township's funds, and keeps track of financial records, resolutions and cemetery deeds.
